# Connecting Real Talk Studio to Microsoft Copilot

> Connect Real Talk Studio to Microsoft Copilot Studio via Model Context Protocol.

<Info>
**Beta** — This integration is part of our MCP beta programme. Behaviour and Microsoft Copilot Studio requirements may be updated as both products evolve.
</Info>

Use this guide to add Real Talk Studio's conversation simulations directly into Microsoft Copilot Studio. Once connected, your Copilot agents can launch Real Talk Studio roleplay simulations through natural language — no code required.

***

## What You'll Need

Before you start, make sure you have:

* **Microsoft Copilot Studio access** with a System Customizer or System Administrator role
* **Generative Orchestration enabled** in your Copilot Studio environment (this is required for all MCP tools)
* Your **Real Talk Studio MCP server URL** — provided by Real Talk Studio

***

## Step 1: Open Your Agent in Copilot Studio

1. Sign in to [Microsoft Copilot Studio](https://copilotstudio.microsoft.com).
2. Open the agent you want to connect Real Talk Studio to, or create a new one.
3. In the left navigation, go to the **Tools** page.

***

## Step 2: Add Real Talk Studio as an MCP Server

1. Select **Add a tool**.
2. Select **New tool**.
3. Select **Model Context Protocol**. The MCP onboarding wizard will appear.
4. Fill in the following details:

| Field | Value |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Server name** | Real Talk Studio |
| **Server description** | AI-powered conversation simulation platform. Creates interactive roleplay scenarios for workforce readiness, compliance training, and high-stakes conversation practice. |
| **Server URL** | The MCP server URL provided by Real Talk Studio |

5. For authentication type, select **None**.
6. Select **Create**.

***

## Step 3: Create the Connection and Add to Your Agent

1. In the **Add tool** dialog that appears, select **Create a new connection**.
2. Select **Add to agent** to finish.

Copilot Studio will automatically discover the tools published by the Real Talk Studio MCP server. You should see the available tools (such as **create\_simulation**) listed on the MCP server settings page.

***

## Step 4: Test the Connection

1. Open the **Test your agent** panel on the right side of Copilot Studio.
2. Try a prompt like:

> "Create a roleplay simulation where a manager needs to give difficult feedback to a team member about consistent late delivery of work."

3. Your agent should invoke the Real Talk Studio tool and return a simulation link.

## Important Notes

### Transport Protocol

Real Talk Studio's MCP server uses the **Streamable HTTP** transport protocol, which is the current standard supported by Copilot Studio. No additional transport configuration is needed.

### Generative Orchestration

MCP tools require **Generative Orchestration** to be enabled in your Copilot Studio environment. If you don't see the Model Context Protocol option when adding a tool, check that this setting is turned on in your environment configuration.

### Automatic Updates

Once connected, Copilot Studio automatically reflects any changes to Real Talk Studio's available tools. If new simulation capabilities are added, they'll appear in your agent without any manual updates.

### Publishing Across Your Organisation

If you want the Real Talk Studio connector to be available to other agent builders in your tenant (not just your own agents), ask your admin about publishing the MCP connector across tenants via Power Platform.

## Troubleshooting

| Issue | Solution |
| ---------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| "Model Context Protocol" option doesn't appear | Ensure Generative Orchestration is enabled in your environment settings |
| Tools aren't listed after connecting | Verify the server URL is correct and the server is reachable. |
| Agent doesn't invoke Real Talk Studio | Review the server description — Copilot uses this to decide when to call the tool. Make sure your prompt clearly relates to conversation simulation or roleplay. |
| Connection fails | Confirm your network allows outbound HTTPS connections to `realtalkstudio.com`. Check with your IT team if a firewall or proxy is blocking the connection. |
